Chiropractor Dr. Parry Peet of Newburgh

I admit, I was curious as to what the medical profession was all about. Dr. Parry Peet

Coming from a family of Chiropractors, I wanted to experience first hand what it was like to be in the emergency room.  I was able to volunteer at the emergency room of St. Lukes Hospital here in Newburgh, New York. I was given a broad spectrum of experiences, some of which sent me quickly to the restroom to handle my urge to vomit.  Though very fascinating, I quickly realized that blood and needles were just not for me.  I knew that I wanted to serve others in the health field and chose Chiropractic as my life long passion and profession.

“It was incredible,” continues Dr. Peet. “I’ll never forget that day in high school when I chose to become a Chiropractor, It was as if a huge weight was suddenly lifted from my shoulders. That’s when I decided I wanted to be a chiropractor.” Today I realize that there was a legacy in my becoming a Chiropractor.

Chiropractic Education

Dr. Peet began his pre-chiropractic education at Mount Saint Mary College and then Oral Roberts University where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at Life College of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia. During his four years at “Life University”, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Life University Public Clinic both in Marietta and downtown Atlanta Georgia. After graduating in 1984 Dr. Peet returned to the Hudson Valley area to establish his practice.

“We love skeptics,” smiles Dr. Peet. “So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to over communicate. Patients appreciate that.”

On a Personal Note…

Dr. Peet is married to Debra and they have two children, Andrew and Amanda. Both children were born with little or no interference and have never been vaccinated or received an antibiotic. (If that sounds interesting, be sure to ask Dr. Peet to explain!)
